Q : Why do I need to register?
A : You don't, however, certain areas of the site are only available to registered users.
Q : Why do I need to be a member to contact the author of listings?
A : Like anyone else, listing authors like their privacy and dislike spam. To ensure they are not inconvenienced by the listing of items here at itsNLA.com, requiring potential buyers and sells to register first helps ensure that they will only receive serious enquires while keeping their contact email address out of sight from email harvesters and spam-bots. Registered members found to be abusing the system can also be banned from further access should it become necessary.
Q : Will I be put on a mailing list?
A : No, not unless you sign up for it. The only emails you'll receive from us will be regarding your listings (approaching expiry, etc.) or from buyers or sells whom have registered. We do not make our membership information available to any third parties.
Q : How much does it cost?
A : Registration is FREE! Posting a listing has some costs involved depending on the quantity of listings purchased. Listings start at just $4.95 for a single ad which allows it to be displayed for up to 6 months! Individual listing price decreases when purchased in quantity.
Q : How can I pay?
A : At the moment we (itsNLA.com) accept PayPal payments for ad placement as well as money orders or cheques*. We hope to be able to offer most major credit cards as well in the near future. *Personal cheques may require an additional waiting period of 7-10 days to await clearing. Both cheques and money orders must be made payable in US funds.
Buyers and sells of items can discuss payment options at time of contact.
Q : What items can I list for sale?
A : Since this site is in support of home appliances, you can list appliance parts, appliance manuals, tools and whole appliances which are wanted or for sale. To round out our service, we also have categories for employment positions available or for hire.
Q : Can I sell used items?
A : Yes. Items being sold may be classified as new, used or 'rebuilt' (aka remanufactured).
Q : Can I sell popular items like fridge water filter, washer pumps, motors?
A : No. This site is a marketplace for discontinued, hard to find or NLA items which are not usually available elsewhere or for dead stock which would normally sell only infrequently. Any listing for 'fast moving' parts or appliances will be deleted at the discretion of itsNLA staff.
Some exceptions may be made for consumers 'stuck' with a fast moving part they no longer have any need for. If you have a question about a particular item, please contact us in advance with its specifics.
Q : Can I list multiple items?
A : Each listing is for a single item or lot. There can be multiple items in a single listing as long as they are to be sold together as a group or set. Multiple items each to be sold separately from one another need to have individual listings.
Listings found to be advertising multiple items will be deleted and the posting member may have their privileges suspended at the discretion of itsNLA staff.
Q : Can I sell electronic or photo copy versions of appliance user, service or repair manuals?
A : No, permissible items are tangible and original goods only. Items which can be sold over and over again without ever reducing stock are not permitted.
If you have such an item that is in the realm of this site's focus (home appliances) and that you would like to list here, contact us about them and we'll see if we can accommodate you. We would definitely like to make such material available to those seeking it but our listing price structure is not set up for advertising.
Q : Why should I list items here and not on eBay?
A : We have prepared a special page to answer that question. Click here for our reply.
Q : Can I display pictures with my listings?
A : Yes, you are able to upload up to 3 images files from your computer's hard drive for each of your listings. These can be uploaded at the time your listing is initially placed or later using the ad editing section of 'My Ads' in the member area control panel.
Listings found to be displaying copyright images not belonging to them will be deleted and the posting member may have their privileges suspended.
Q : How big of pictures can be used?
A : The maximum file size which is allowed to be uploaded is 100kb. The maximum size the illustration will be displayed on itsNLA.com is 320x240 pixels. Larger images will be resized automatically but to insure the best possible image quality you should use your own image editing software to adjust the sizes as close as possible to the allowable limits. Smaller images will not be enlarged.
Q : Do you have an upload feature for multiple listings?
A : Not as yet but we are working on an import feature which will allow a prepared list of items to be automatically entered into our system. Until we have fully tested it we suggest you create the text of your ads locally in a word processor, text editor or spread sheet, spell check them, then copy and paste the information into separate listings. You can edit your listings afterward to upload their graphics to save time if you prefer.
Note: Please do NOT type ad title or details in all CAPITAL LETTERS.
Q : What does "Ad can be placed in final level category only" mean?
A : That means if you have an appliance to sell, it can not just be listed in the top "Appliances" category but must be in the Appliances -> For Sale -> Cooking (or Cooling or Cleaning) category. That way people looking for that specific type of appliances can find them all in the same general area.
Q : Can I link to my company's web site?
A : No, external links are not allowed from listings. Any listings found with a link in them or a reference to an external web site will be deleted at the sole discretion of itsNLA staff. If you are interested in promoting your web site, contact us about advertising possibilities.
Q : Can I post my email address?
A : Unless there is abuse of this in the future, we will allow you to post your contact email address for the time being if you want. We however advise against it unless you want it harvested by spam-bots and run the risk of getting spammed. There are facilities in place to allow potential buyers and sells to contact you using a safer 'contact form'.
Q : Are you selling these items?
A : No. While itsNLA staff may occasionally post items for sale or wanted, most of the items listed here are those of other individuals. If you would like to purchase an item which was listed, you contact that person directly to make arrangements for delivery and payment.
Q : Do you act as a middleman between buyer and seller?
A : No. The owners and webmaster of itsNLA.com does not warrant nor guaranty the accuracy of listing details nor fulfilment of purchases. Any correspondence or agreement entered into will be solely between the two parties involved.
Should you run into a problem with one of our members, please let us know so we can monitor the situation. Continued abuse of our web site is grounds for membership termination and automatic expiration of all listings of said member.
Q : Where are you located?
A : At present all itsNLA staff are physically located in Canada, the web site is hosted in the United States. The buyers and sellers of listed items may be located anywhere in the world.
Q : Do the items advertised here have to be for North America appliances?
A : No. While this web site was initially intended to support the North American appliance industry, persons from anywhere in the world may list items which are of interested to others or are needed. All fees associated with listings however are charged in US currency (USD).
